Never Call it Quits

Like a runner who puts every last bit of energy and effort to the final stretch of a race – waiting to cross the finish line – we are called to strain or press on to our finish line – the time when Jesus calls us home to heaven. We are sometimes tempted to coast the final few yards of a race – and tempted to coast in our Christian lives when the end of our lives approach. Instead we are called to re-double our effort to become more like Christ – and to make a difference in his kingdom.  For those who have the motto “I’ve done my time” I have two words: “not yet”.  In Philippians 2 we considered the topic of sanctification. Last Sunday we considered the topic of justification. In today’s message we’ll consider the topic of glorification.
