Contagious Joy

The church in Philippi faced tremendous adversity. Yet Paul’s drumbeat throughout the book is “joy”. Paul counsels believers in Philippi to cling to joy – despite what they are facing. In this introductory sermon we’ll look at the background of how the church was founded, consider the city of Philippi and it’s culture, highlight some of the key people we will encounter in the weeks ahead, and give a roadmap of the topics we’ll be covering.
